UFC: Which Champion Will Get Stripped Next?

So far this year we’ve seen Conor McGregor and  Nicco Montano stripped of their UFC titles. There are a few more candidates who could face the same fate sooner than later. Who’s next? The first candidate could possibly be the UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier. The double champ expressed a desire to defend both titles since claiming the UFC heavyweight title at UFC 226 in July. Cormier also gave a deadline until he officially calls it a career – March 20th, his birthday. Cormier is nearly three…

UFC’s Yoel Romero: The People’s Champ

Yoel Romero told Ariel Helwani on Monday that he will not be fighting Paulo Costa at UFC 230 this November, but the “Soldier of God” still finessed a sweet new contract, which makes him the clear winner. The 41-year-old lab experiment gone right found himself in hot water just two years ago when he was flagged by USADA. The MMA world took the opportunity to turn against poor Romero. A victim of tainted supplements immune to any traces of dad bod. Well, the joke was on them. Romero went from…

UFC: Everyone Wants to Fight TJ Dillashaw

It’s been less than a week since TJ Dillashaw retained his UFC bantamweight title against Cody Garbrandt, and that’s plenty of time for fighters from his division, outside his division and even outside of MMA, to call for Dillashaw’s throne. TJ Dillashaw put on a performance so impressive that the media and fans alike are ready to call him the greatest bantamweight fighter of all time. Dominick Cruz and his fans took issue with that notion and believe that both men need to settle it in a rematch. Then there’s…

Nate Diaz Back at UFC 230?

The UFC’s extravagant press conference on Friday was a joyous one due in large part to the return of Nate Diaz. Sadly, the excitement was short lived as Nate Diaz expressed his frustration via Twitter and stated that he will not be fighting after all. Why Nate why? Nate Diaz doesn’t like his emotions being played with so he decided to play with the emotions of his fans instead. The UFC finally gave in to his demands and offered Stockton’s favorite son a winnable and high stakes fight against Dustin…

Jared Gordon: Unluckiest Man in the UFC

The UFC’s Jared Gordon may not be a notable member of the roster, but his recent string of bad luck is what makes him stand out. This includes being TKO’d by Carlos Diego Ferreira in February. Oh, and he also nearly lost three of his fingers in a brawl against gang members in New York two months before that. Jared Gordon is only a year into his UFC career compiling a respectable 2-1 record. Unfortunately for Gordon he just so happens to be a part of the UFC’s most unforgiving…

When Keeping it Crazy Goes Wrong at Bellator 200

Meet Carl Noon who looks like a villain from a Guy Richie movie and might actually be a Harbinger for the MMA Gods of old. I’m talking about the angry Just Bleed gods that tear ACL’s days before super fights and demand swangin’ and bangin’. Prior to last night Noon hadn’t fought for nearly 7 years. His last fight was a TKO loss to current UFC middleweight Jack Marshman. Ring rust appeared to be the last of Noon’s worries when he appeared mildly psychotic in his Bellator 200 pre-fight profile.…

Case against Gustafsson vs Rockhold

Brazil’s Combate reported that the UFC is closing in on a bout between Luke Rockhold and Alexander Gustafsson in the near future. Michael Bisping claimed that the rumored bout is set to crown an interim light heavyweight champion with Daniel Cormier challenging Stipe Miocic for the heavyweight title at UFC 226. Both Rockhold and Gustafsson have traded barbs back and forth, which started the night Rockhold was knocked out by Yoel Romero at UFC 221 in February. Rockhold’s first fight in the light heavyweight division will be a literal tall…

UFC’s Unhealthy Obsession with Title Fights

The UFC has been prioritizing title fights over fighter health for some time now, and it’s fair to say they’re hurting themselves in the long run. The UFC 223 main event is a good example of the UFC shooting themselves in the foot. UFC president, Dana White has been adamant on pay-per-view events strictly being headlined by title fights for some time now. UFC 139 was one of the few pay-per-view events that was not headlined by a title fight and it turned out to be one of the greatest…

Nurmagomedov vs McGregor in 2018?

Reports surfaced of Khabib Nurmagomedov discussing a fight against Conor McGregor this year. Khabib Nurmagomedov held a Q&A session in Russia where he was asked about a potential fight against the “Notorious” one and expressed his interest only if the bout takes place this year. “If he wants to fight this year then we can fight. Otherwise, I don’t know. We won’t wait long. I want to fight Conor and if he can fight, I will fight him.” McGregor is facing legal issues stemming from the attack on a UFC…

Turns out Weidman Was Faking it at UFC 210

Weidman’s last fight vs. Mousasi at UFC 210 ended in the least fulfilling way a fight can end, via doctor’s stoppage. If you need a refresher, the controversy began after referee Dan Miragliotta called a break to the action at three minutes into round number two after Mousasi hit Weidman with a knee while Weidman appeared to have both hands on the ground. At which point Miragliotta called in the ringside physician, the doc gave him the old count my fingers and look at my light routine and things didn’t look good. Anytime the doctor spends more than 15 seconds…
